Why do you think they haven't joined the console bandwaggon?

Would their hardware be too expensive?

Or just because its a bandwagon, like I said?

They're too elitist for that sort of thing.

Hmm... That's a good question. I am curious to see if maybe they ever have looked into making one or something.

It would overheat more often and with more disastrous results than the Xbox 360, there would fewer games available for it than there are for the Wii (the few that did exist would all be published by Apple, obviously), and it would cost three times as much as a Playstation 3.

So you think they should?

Would be interesting.

Ihaterednecks;4397720What would it look like? That's what I'm wondering.

My thoughts exactly...

LOL, some good points there.

But why do you say it would overheat?

Macbooks don't overheat do they?

And actually, at least according to the Amazon description, the Xbox360 uses PowerPC based chips!

No... A gaming console just doesn't seem to fit apple. The company tends to the mainstream, less experienced crowd, which values simplicity and looks over anything else. The only games these people should be interested in are the so called "casual" ones, a console developed for casual games is a recipe for crappy (or a Wii). Those are probably available for apple computers anyway. Plus, the console would be expensive as hell, everything Apple branded is, and what marketing stunt could they pull off? Our gaming console is simple? That can only mean bad hardware and shallow games, doesn't get much simpler than an Xbox or PS3.
