This is crazyness. Wasnt there a Everquest player who killed himself too? thats what i heard anyway. Ive played wow and i cant see me killing myself over it. Even if my whole account got deleted. I dont really play it anymore...its an on and off thing now...after awhile the same crap over and over again gets boring. i wish there was an MMO that wasnt completely based on level but skill of the player also. sorry im going completely off topic now...
I wish that to say if your like highest level on WoW and your account gets hacked/ deleted forever.
You know what? I heard this guy killed himself. And he used to play pacman on an atari 2600...
Then he graduated to a colecovision. But soon went to the atari 5200. He didn't like that much, so nintendo came along and he got that. I think he didn't kill himself till the sega cd came along, with the nintendo dolphin. Those were real reasons to kill oneself if they bought it.
I wonder what would have happened had he only never bought that damn atari .... DAMN YOU COMBAT and INDIANA JONES !!!!
But seriously. Oh well... he isn't breathing our air anymore. And just because he played wow, doesn't mean shit. He could have played single player FEAR and they would have blamed video games. It was because people from the WoW community cared enough to send emails, that the game is blamed.
Moral of the story here folks? Don't give a shit, they are only your interwebz friendz and you shouldn't care cause it will kill your community and get you blamed. It's only the internet after all....
Disconnected DC i wish there was an MMO that wasnt completely based on level but skill of the player also.
There is ... It's called Guild Wars.
It is the player who is at fault not World of Warcraft, but that point is already made. It's hard to think that some people would die over a game. How addictive is this game?
I really don't think WOW caused his suicide. That man had another reason for that action.
I play WoW and all I can say is bullshit.
If you read the article the only people that attempted to get help for the guy were his fellow WoW players who sent messages to the university saying they thought there was a problem with the guy. The messages were ignored.
Its so typical to see: "Person played WoW, person commited suicide, therefore WoW must be what caused his death".
I fail to see how anyone could kill themselves over something so trivial. I played WoW, and it was fun in the beginning, but the "carrot on a stick"-system they enforced (and still do) was easy to see through, so I left. Sure, I had friends on there, but I still keep in touch with them over IM and Ventrilo. Red Menace is spot on, as WoW players even tried to warn Virginia Tech to no avail.

Most probably, but I kinda' forgot. Virginia tech is getting a bad reputation.
Speer;4185834People should think before they act, this is an example. The game must be very addictive.
Jesus, just because he loves WoW doesn't mean that's why he killed himself. Some people can be metally weak. Maybe he started getting lonely his university was too much him. I and many friends play WoW, we're not gonna kill ourselves if we lose our gold or our PC breaks down.
To speak on WoW: The game is very good, it's alot more connecting than games like Crysis or oblivion, it has a community and everything and it's very enjoyable to play so don't do it down just because a player kills himself.
Football players have killed themselves but has football even considered being banned?
I didn't make it!
yet another dead from WoW are you happy blizzard!? The Media asholes will eat this up, and enjoy it
