If you're considering an Alien Ware pc.... you've got too much money to burn.

You can get the same performance in a computer of equal spec, without the brand name. For much less cost. Shop around, look at the price(s) of whole systems, and individual components to build a pc yourself.

(Self builds aren't that hard to do, even for someone who has never done it before. Plus, I find it much more satisfying each time it boots... I get a little glowing fuzzy feeling of "I built that, and it's f***ing working!".)

What made PC gaming great was the modding, the user owned severs and side clients, now days thats slowly fading away, Xbox In my opinion isn't worth the service charge, so if you can afford it get a ps3

If you build your own PC rather than buy from Dellienware, you can get just as much performance while still having enough money left over to buy either console in addition. And a small country, for that matter.

Last time I built a PC I used the money I saved from not buying a Dellienware to get myself this great little tropical island in the Pacific.

Whatever you do, DO NOT go with Alienware. You can do a custom PC with the same specs for a fraction of the cost. When I was looking at getting an Alienware PC, I realized they overprice everything, so I took the same hardware they were using, put it into different sites and got much better deals. The only thing I'd buy from Alienware would be their cases, because they look kind of cool.

I got them crazies.

Well, your going to get biased opinions on a PC gaming forum, but to be honest I would (and have done) build my own PC, cause its waaay cheaper and you feel good about yourself that you built a PC. P3's and 360's are good for party and friends, but if you properly price everything, you could have both for the same price as an Alienware.

+1 on building your own PC. You can build a good more powerful gaming rig than a Alienware for a lot less by doing it yourself. It does cost a lot more than say getting a 360 or PS3, but i think its more than worth it as your PC can be used for everything. Plus with PC games you get tons of good mods (though some new games have been lacking in that department), not extra cost for stuff like Xbox Live, much better graphics, and the mouse+keyboard controls own in pretty much everything besides racing games.

I have a 360 and honestly i only play it maybe once or twice couple months. I only have it out now because i was replaying Halo 3 after playing Reach at a friends house.

Most here despite the increasing squeeze on quality PC games by the console industry are going to steer you toward PC, but build your own or at least get one at a decent price from a place that builds custom configured PCs. If you can afford Alienware, you could configure or better yet build a very good gaming PC.
