It doesn't have to be from a fighter, just a move that finishes your opponent off for good. Mine would have to either be Sub Zero's spine rip: Or the stealth finisher in Dark Sector where he grabs a soldier from behind and stabs the guy in the chest with the glaive, and tears it across his chest and the guy spins out of your guys arms.

I'd have to say Ike's Great Aether in Super Smash Bros. Brawl:

Either that or the Tendril Barrage in Prototype:

Edit: Can't get the youtube tags to work, so I just posted the links.

The Orge kill in Dragon Age: Origins. Best I've ever seen.

EDIT: somehow this video seems to load quite slowly. Have patience.

None of these seem to have the epic feel of pulling off a super, or EX combo in Street Fighter IV.

Nor the thrill of attacking a Death Star, either via a trench run, or a perilous flight through the station itself, to destroy the core.

Although some might not call it a finishing move, that last battle with Ganon in Ocarina of Time was just as epic, if not more so, than the ogre battle in Dragon Age. YouTube - Zelda Ocarina of Time Ganon Final Boss Battle

Were not talking about battles, were talking about the sequence of where you finally and utterly defeat the enemy.

Yeah, after thinking about OoT, and Street Fighter IV, I got a bit off track.

Anyway, the Street Fighter Ex/Super moves have a smilar effect, if timed at the end of the battle. They make for one heck of a finishing move. Which I think are cooler than any of the fatalities in a Mortal Combat game. Although the non-standard ones come close.

The final sequence of Zelda, starting at about 5:00 into the Video I posted above, is what I originally meant to refer to. As it then turns to a scripted sequence, save for a short break which was almost a primitive QTE.

The Death Star destruction sequences may not always look as cool, but blowing up a serious weapon of that scale with two torpedoes is always cool. The approach sequences do help to set the mood.

Whether or not the Death Star sequence of the torpedoes dropping into the hole fits the criteria of the thread, seems to depend on the thread starter.

This. There are multiple for me though. That and the dragon kills in DAO. Then there are certain Throwing knife kills.
