[color=black]Hi,[/color] [color=black]I was thinking this long before the game while I was still playing the demo.[/color] [color=black]Some of my ideas for models have been also thought out by other greats modders before I even came the site so that helps me with examples and etc since I am virtually brand new to modding.[/color] [color=black]I used to be in a mod team for CnC Generals helping with skins (if they provided a template) and a bit of ini work. I will be teaching myself to make models also so this mod of might be a long time to completion cause of real life priorities.[/color] [color=black]<<--- All below are Basic Concepts, Subject to Change. No Fancy Story Yet, Sorry --->>[/color] [color=black]It is nearing the end of the 26th century the federation has expanded virtually completely into Alpha and Beta quadrants and a large presence in the Gamma and Delta Quadrants.[/color] [color=black]With the new Engine (no name yet) the federation built its first ever fully armed and succienficent Galactic Vessel which has the Technology to cross into other galaxies (at the same rate it takes voyager to get home from the Delta Quadrant)[/color] [color=black]The Engine pushes Time and Space to its limits causing a ripple effect, which helps push it along achieving almost instant travel (compared to crossing from one quadrant to another). It is powered by an Omega Power source (no need for Omega Directive, technology is too advanced so it can prevent and repair damage)[/color] [color=black]The newly christened Unix Class was being signed up at the drawing boards of UGFP: United Galactic Federation of Planets (UFP was renamed during after it had gained its 10000 different species of humanoids in the Gamma Quadrant).[/color] [color=black]However, even in this time of peace and exploration came a dark hidden side.[/color] [color=black]During this time the UGFP had been in so many wars including 2 civil wars, 1 in Alpha Quadrant and 1 in Delta Quadrant, there was one enemy first discovered on record by Jean Luc Picard, which still terrorises them today... the Q.[/color] [color=black]The Q decided to Limit the Federation and destroy it once and for all and it started an all out attack. The UGFP by this time had sufficient resources to combat this threat started conducting experiments on how not to be affected by the Q.[/color] [color=black]The UNIX class kept getting updated with technologies but the finishing date kept being pushed back.[/color] [color=black]The Q have caused havoc with the federation leading it to go into chaos, but the almighty Q got bored and just left it to wither slowly into the dust of peace and justice.[/color] [color=black]Unix Class was unveiled to the Galaxy promising to bring hope and justice back in this time of turmoil. It was lead by first Rank Commander Riker (the TNG one is dead by this time of course) :/ More Updates on Crew Etc when the Story is set up.[/color] [color=black]10 weeks in service the federation was split into two sections. The more militaristic side where they are using force to quell uprising from non-federation and unmoral members who are helping the federation fall apart, and the purist pacifists letting them leave on free choice.[/color] [color=black]The UNIX class ship Commanded by Riker came onto the dark side of the federation and as the flagship, technologies of pure warfare were built on for its secondary virtually primary role of combat.[/color] [color=black]Later on the purist set back to the days of the old UFP policies, which cut of the Dark side of the Federation leading them to form their own group (name on later date).[/color] [color=black]Dark side upset with this decision and humiliation set out to change history and sure, it never comes back to a time like this...[/color] [color=black]Unix Class was set on a mission to go back through time... and solve out the Q once and for all back to after the time it was in regular contact... the 24th century"[/color] [color=black]At this point, the only race being created is the "Dark" Federation (dark because it was more militaristic)[/color] [color=black]I will Post the Details on the ships etc in about hour.[/color]

[color=black]Bad news is that it looks rather like the premonition so expect a ship rather like that. Lol, if the creator allows me to do so, I will edit it and reskin it and still give the credits to him so I will contact him about that.[/color]

You said you had no name for the new engine, yet.
I have a suggestion.
This is based on the Aliens vs Predator Universe, and the future I extended upon there, though I was going to implement this in my own mods in Armada II as well.
It's called Anti-Space, and while seemingly simple and dumb-sounding, it's actually much deeper and complex than some may think.
You'll have to bear with me on this part.
The concept revolves around the control and use of worm holes. Everything in the galaxy has an opposite.
Matter - Anti-Matter, for example.
Well, there is an opposite to space/time. Anti-Space. The premise is that one opens a worm-hole in front of a space-craft, which, as we all know, can bend/warp time/space at will.
This worm-hole tears a slit in space/time, opening a gap between the two. This dark, star-less area is anti-space. Once a ship passes into anti-space, time/space no longer has any influence on the vessel, and it can travel whenever, wherever, it wants.
To escape anti-space, one must open another worm-hole and maneuver out.
Unlike warp and hyperspace, this technology is not based on faster-than-light travel, so it is unaffected by gravity wells.
The closest example I can find of it in-game is the slip-stream drives used by the Armored Voyager, its shuttles, and the Dauntless, or the trans-warp gate used by the Behemoth-class Species 8472 ships.
A tear opens, you fly in it, then another tear appears and you fly out.
While not exactly spectacular, it does have moorings in Trek-esque technology, and would be relatively easy to implement in-game. It also solves problems of moving across space/time as impossibly fast as you speak of.

This sounds like a great idea. I can't help with SOD modding, but i can help with ODFs( ships, weapons, station, special weapons)
