Hello All, probably a stupid question here, but I have a map that I want to release. I would like to know how to make a bmp of the map for a preview.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you Speedbuggy

I have foudn a good freeware called Ultimate Paint .It does many thing to a bmp It does many nice thing to BMp file . Just one waring though Make sure it right size when before saveing , Or it could be to big :) Also make sure you save the edited BMp with same file name as original , and into same directory :)

A preview is created when you save a map. Check the map folder.

sometimes thier isnt a bmp made, then you might wish to create one via Ms Paint / one I personally recommend above " Ultimated Paint . Just make sure you give it same name as main map file as example map001.bzn connects to : map001.bmp

Save the map in 800x600 resolution and one should be created. Also make sure the file name is no longer than 8 characters.

Thank you very much for your assistance weldon and Trickster. I will be trying out Ultimate Paint once I get my server back up and running. I've almost fixed all the problems with my "alpha quadrant map" .. Just need to clean up the preview bmp and finish naming the planets. However I now feel the orientation is wrong so I may have to restart the whole damn thing from scratch.

Thanks again.. Speedbuggy
