What do I change to make the shockwave from exploding ships/stations damage anything in its path? (like an exploding miningfreigther with latinum)

what is it you don't understand??? I think it is quite clear, but...
well im not sure on how to do it but try and change these linse to 0 if your using the grwave.odf

or maybe u have an idea on what shockwave you want to use or maybe u just want to use the odf. file titled wholowav.odf let me know and ill take alook at it
or add this line to the odf. and maybe mess around with it put it at 2 see if it still hurts ships

Most large ships use Fireball lines to indicate what explosion they will use when they are destroyed. This line is typically contained in the #include "battle.odf" (that is to say, the line is found in the battle.odf file). However, you can add the line Fireball = "name of .odf" where the name is the explosion name (a bit obvious, but necessary). Typically, the line appears like this:
fireball = "xfirebal"
The regular fireball does absolutely no damage (more's the pity). But we can change this through some simple .odf editing. For example, let's make Klingon starbases have the capacity to damage those ships who dared to destroy a Klingon station. Add the line Fireball = "xklingsbal" to the end of the Kbase.odf file. Save this file and next, open the xfirebal.odf file found in the Other subfolder of the odf main folder. Scroll down to where it says shockwave = "xshock" and change this to "xklingshock". Keep all other lines the same. Save this .odf file as "xklingsbal" and open the xshock.odf file. Scroll down to where it says "rays = 16" and add the following lines:
damageBase = 4500 damageVariance = 1500 damageThreshold = 4501
shieldCrewModifier = 0.5 hullCrewModifier = 0.5
Save this file as "xklingshock" and now, if and when a Klingon starbase is destroyed, its killers will suffer a similar fate. This can be done to all ships but keep in mind that smaller ships should have smaller shockwave radii and inflict less damage. You can even change the color to a Borg green (change the color = 1.0 1.0 1.0 to color = 0.0 0.6 0.4) or a Klingon red (color = 1.0 0.2 0.2).
