1) I adjusted the dilithium, metal, and latinum counts to get more out of them when I play a random map IA game. The only problem is that when I play a IA game with a preconfigured map, all the dilithium moons and latinum nebulas are tiny and the planets' metal contents are greatly reduced to original levels.
Is there any way I can fix this or do I have to change back the resource counts all back to the original game?
2) Some time ago, when I choose a map in IA start screen, it doesn't show a preview. All the BMPs are in the map folder, but they won't show. Any suggestions?
I guess you changed the files in ODF/OTHER like resourcemoon.odf and resource latinum.odf and then all the planet classes odfs, right? If you went in and changed the moons' dilithium from 20000 to say 40000 there is no way it will not work. I have adjusted the planets' odf and never play random map- only selected maps. I have made mine-able asteroids and made a resource odf for them and they work. Those are the files to change and no others. You can change dilithium transfer rates in the races' mines' odfs and rate of mining resources in each races' odf in ODF/OTHER. This way the races mine faster.
As for the blank mini map try loading that map in the map editor and saving it again to overwrite the old one. If all info is valid it will show up. Be aware-some maps I've downloaded don't work at all either so it could be that individual map.
Hmm...maybe I'm not doing it right. I'll continue to tweak around with it. Thank you again for your help.
