Ok let me be a little more specific in what I need. This is what I am totally stumped on. Making a ship and making an odf file for it, etc. I read through the tutorial and I'm stumped. Can some explain alittle more clearly how to mod? I know it's alot to ask, but I need help bad. I love this game, but the game would be soooooo much better if I could mod it.
Thanx alot to anyone who can help.
btw, I'm useing milkshape.

I think the best way to learn modding is to try. Push urself a bit further everytime something succeeds.
This milkshape thing is total crap. I can't seem to get the right ship shapes, etc. At this point that's all I need help on. How do I make a ship? And of course all the stuff you need to put it in the game, first things first.:D How do I make a ship? :D
btw, captain henk, Jesus does rule!;)

NX01. Milkshape isn't crap. It was specially designed with low poly modelling in mind. Also I do all my own modelling using it and I don't complain or have a problem making ships/stations with it. Looking at your posting you just don't have any patience with the program, and just want someone else to do the modelling for you.
My advice to you is work at it (I also think your trying to delve in at the deep end with something complex). If your new to modelling you should start of small to get experience with the tools your using. For gods sake even the likes of Deemon (possibly the best modeller I've come across in this community for low poly models), is probably still learning new things each time he models. We all do. Also its no good asking "How can I make a ship??" as you'll find every modeller has their own method of working. For example, I build a ship by texture reference (for example, if my texture maps show the top of a model, but only the right or left side, then I will create one side of my model, texture it and the mirror the whole side, and regroup. Alternatively, if my texture shows the entire top of a saucer, then I'll model the entire saucer top. Thats my preference.). Once you've gotten your experience, you'll find there are probably quicker ways you can obtain the same results. Finally, did you try the tutorial for modelling with milkshape that was released as an additional chapter to the Big Book of Modelling?? If not I suggest you try using it, and work outwards from that (its more used as a point of reference).
OK I went through the tutorial, but were is the texture for the constituion class ship? Or how can I make one?

Nx01. The textures that are included with the tutorial are the TGA files. As for making your own, probably the easiest way is to find a model which is already made a "borrow" the textures from it.
Thanx Mayjor Payne. I don't want people to make them for me btw, I just always seem to have problems with computers and I always expect the worst.:(
