these are the ODFs for the federation Freighter and mining station, I tested them and they both work purfectly. The Zip file contains the ODF for both. Just replace the original with these.
okay ill have a look at them in a few
cds is right. Just edit gpoleron.odf 0. You can simply use many special weapons without researching them by editting your ship weapons section as hpoleron.odf 0 also in the tech file's other special weapons section at the end. If you want the weapon to be researched by a different race you can change the name a bit like gpolerok.odf and then make all research pods and weapons odfs so named and list it in the research station's build/research list.
Thanks for the advice, It worked perfectly for all the weapons on the Balance of Power. Sorry for the delay in getting back to you, I didn't hav the time to log onto the forums, I've had problems with some mods and I've been Improving the Balance of Power. I downloaded the Scimitar and discovered that The balance couldn't even put a dent in its shields, the only thing that could was a fusion/tactical fusion cube. Thanks again for your help
yes when people do mods they often for get most people are putting the mods in a fresh install of a2.. balance is often forgottin in mini mods.. also.. about Armod 2.. whoever made it is a cool person.. but i hate the way the odfs look.. they look like shit very hard to edit without Armod 2... i think you should just write them yourself.. they arent hard.. and as you seen with the prom odf i sent back to you.. takes a few secs to write.. and are way easy just to open them and edit them.. glad your weapons work now.. and good luck with what you're working on..
Yeah I used Armod once and hated it. It might be OK for non-adventrtous folks afraid to edit but geez, the files are plain language and as you say easy to change. One problem is that when people do a mod they include tech files and global sprite files that, if used, overwrite the old ones that may have modded stuff that will now not work. It's just simplier to show in the readme file what excatly to add for the new mod to work.
Thanks for your help, It really came in handy. For now I don't think I'm going to mod that much. The balance of Power works like I want, I re-edited the one I posted above. It now has 20 phasers, 10 torpedoes, and I believe I added a Phase cloak. I do give you permission to use the ODF file above for anything you want.
