WBBOM was great but a lot of it is A1 related and its missing some of the A2 stuff - anyone know if they made a follow-up or if someone else has made something similar?
I have several decent ideas on how to improve the .odf section from Westworld's BBOM but I will not post them unless I have his permission, seeing as how much of it is gleaned from his master work. As to making models, textures, etc., my knowledge is sadly lacking:(
One thing I can point out is that many Armada I SODs can be used as is in Armada II (not all can though...I suggest you use an SOD viewer to see if this is possible before you add a ship/station/object into the game) but the .odf files need tweaking (for example, Armada I uses the "scout.odf" line but Armada II uses the "scoutBase.odf" line; also, Armada I .odfs do not generally include the individual hitpoints associated with a particular ship and instead assigns x hitpoints to each vessel class, which is not the case in Armada II)
Armada I is not without its charm but with Armada II, there are many more modding possibilities (more special weapons classes, usable planets/asteroids/nebulae). Therefore, I think that an updated BBOM may be in order (the old BBOM is fine as it stands now but there are more STA:II modders than STA:I modders demanding improved instructions)

Reisen. As far as I know he won't mind, but might I suggest that you add the following section to your read me (unless Westworld himself adds it in - Email him about it):
"Please be advised that this tutorial is not connected and was not written by Westworld. It is only a suplementary tutorial to aid those who wish to edit aspects of files contained in Star Trek Armada 2"
Mind you. If you head over to SGN, he's got a forum there. If your registered just PM with what your planning and he may even write a large section as an addon. Heaven knowns I've got to update my Milkshape Tutorial seeing as I now use a better way of texturing than before.
Well I am not sure what you mean by "things missing", but if you have ideas for improvement then by all means write them up. If you want I can look them over and add them to the BBOM, or you can write your own tutorial that covers whatever you feel is missing and release it as a separate thing all of your own. All I ask is that if you write it and you do not send it to me to be added by me personally as an official part of the BBOM then, don't use my name on the tutorial or the BBOM name. So basically don't call it WBBOM 2 or TGO's BBOM or something like that, it would cause too much confusion IMO.
Also keep in mind that the BBOM came out less than 2 months after Armada 2 was released. It was never meant to cover everything about modding, only the basics. Some things, people just need to figure out on thier own, there is no tutorial on any subject that I have ever seen that tells everything there is to know about the topic. Tutorials are for newbies that do not know how to do anything, it gets them started and leaves some discovery to the user. If I put everything there was to know about modding Armada 1&2 and modeling in it the thing would have been at least another 500 pages long. :)
Well I could probably write up some extra stuff for odf's, TechTree's and AI's but I have only just started to model so my knowledge is zilch on that one.
