ok, heres the lowdown. Im trying to set up a public dedicated server for CS 1.6 on my buddys network, but for some reason no one can join. We looked around and found out that we have to forword a port or something to the router... Its all beyond me. So if theres anyone out there who could help me get my server working I'ed greatly appreseate it. ~Later

I've had that problem befor, my friend is the owner of a server hosting company and my brother's job is working on computers so I'll ask them what to do and get back to you.

You probally are going through some kind of network hub... take you server IP and enter it into the address bar in IE. youll get the control panel for your hub. if its a linksys, click the advanced tab then DMZ tab. enter 101 to 109. I was having the same problem. If the problem persists. directly connect your computer to the internet thing. even then youll have to enable DMZ host in firewall settings of you "home portal" or whatever you have... Hope this helps. good luck with you server.

of course hes going thru some kinda network hub, KingKid said he was using a router.

my advise to avoid these kinda setbacks, avoid them all together by useing a simple network switch, they dont have firewalls or any tyupe of protections hardware or software.
