Capt. QueegI don't exactly have an exclusive connection to our T1.

Yeah, I tried to pull my funny yesterday, but I was only getting a trickle out the pipe. The best I saw was something like 256/3000. lol I've seen (at the final end mind you) download speeds as high as 12MB/sec, so if I did the test at just the right time (or in the middle of the night) it would be really cool. My work must have more than a T1 connection, but I don't know the names higher than that. smilie.gif

T-1 - 1.544 megabits per second T-3 - 43.232 megabits per second (28 T1s) OC-3 - 155 megabits per second (100 T1s) OC-12 - 622 megabits per second (4 OC3s) OC-48 - 2.5 gigabits per seconds (4 OC12s) OC-192 - 9.6 gigabits per second (4 OC48s)

Most local ISPs have 1 or 2 T3s and distrubute that.

Well from Bradford U.K Mines taken at a peak time when most of my network is running so this really isn't an acurate figure. It's a cable connection from Blueyonder Telewest. Downstream 3718 Kbps (464.8 KB/sec) 4015 Kbps (inc. overheads) Upstream 358 Kbps (44.8 KB/sec) 386 Kbps (inc. overheads)

As a rule when it's just my machine running i'm kicking 4.2meg down and nearly 400k up

Hfx_RebelHfx-Rebel god's country...err, sorry Canada Cable Results: 2005-01-10 16:51:38 EST: 4023 / 774 Your download speed : 4120206 bps, or 4023 kbps. A 502.9 KB/sec transfer rate. Your upload speed : 792934 bps, or 774 kbps.

You've got a good upload speed there, fast enough to run a decent gamin server, hint, hint. ;) Ooooo what I would'nt give for a 9.6gig connection. I'd sell my granny for that. (if I had one)

i've thought about that AE, and i recently got my hands on an 'ok' system; just needs a good CPU. i dunno if i'm gonna go with a gaming server, TS server, or some kind of FTP/mass storage server for the WW community.

Sorry to dredge up an old thread, but I just got a DSL upgrade at home and remembered that I never posted my home speed here. Well, I can't remember where I put the old speed, but my new tested speed is (from a theoretical 3000Kb down 768Kb up connection): 2571 down / 662 up That's from Northern Virginia, USA, on DSL. I'm hoping this will get me a bit more performance - especially when 1.6 comes out. Bring it on!!!! :)
