this isn't new, people have survived plane crashes before they have a whole branch of psychologists for the survivors

its more the fact that she is the sole survivor, not that she survived that makes it amazing

Precisely, if this were any other plane crash with survivors i don't think too many people would care but considering how young and fragile she is, and that she is the ONLY survivor of a PLANE crash... Well that's something worth reading about.

And the amusing thing is that she doesn't seem to remember much of it. Did they say why a 12 year old girl was in Panama without her family?

EDIT:

Michael Klein, a prominent California businessman, and his 13-year-old daughter Talia a friend of Francesca

Never mind.

And I don't really think that plane crash survivors need their own branch of psychology (coming from one who doesn't believe much in psycology but even less in those who practice it)

She's young, she bounces. Bones aren't as likely to severely snap, they're more like green tree branches. So more force gets absorbed.

You *Do* Realise that the emergency position you are shown to do in practice is designed so it actually breaks your neck and kills you...? Thus the Airline doesn't have to pay out a large fee to the surviviors as insurance, ect?

Not really amazing. Happened already, but it was in the east so u might have not noticed. Plane with US allies, coming home from iraque I think, fell on it's way back. Only 1 survivor(was alright next day). Btw I don't know in which part of the plane the girl was but I would bet she was in the back.
