Possibly one of the greatest abilities of a starship ia to grab onto another and tow it to freedom or destruction. I wish to add a tractor beam to of my ships. What is the scripting I will need to add into the .py file?

Your best bet is to use the Model Property Editor that comes with the SDK.
Open the .NIF of the ship you want and then its hard point .py file.
Add a tractor subsystem first, and then as many tractor beams as you want.
