I couldn't stop crying for at least an hour:

What Does It Feel Like to Kill?

It's quite easy to kill someone with a gun, but to kill someone with a knife, that is hard. That story would have touched me more if he wasn't built for killing people.

Why do people act all surprised that taking part in a war can mess you up? There are enough accounts of WWI and WWII available to see that a big proportion of those who were in combat for prolonged times (actual combat, not just shooting a bunch of fleeing idiots) don't manage to cope with the experience and are left to deal with it themselves.

I wonder the same thing, these men and women are trained to kill, but they aren't trained for the feelings that take place after that. You can't really train for that though, no legally anyway.

Humans are just overly superstitious animals. If any other human-animal was on his way to trying to eliminate me from the habitat we share, I would gladly take him out of the population first. This isn't new or surprising information in any way possible, it's just boring "Heard it before but maybe if I hear it again I'll feel bad this time" boredom, which I suppose serves the purpose of allowing him to get out his personal Human Superstitions.

If anything this itself is a glorification of murder just for presenting it as some kind of massive unthinkable event that never happens, which I guess if you're an overly religious or sheltered person you might assume as much. I've seen people die and I'm not about to check into a loony bin, their organs stopped being able to function and they were no longer to support the vital processes of their body. Which yes, is terribly sad when they're people you care about; but if it's someone who just as easily would have rather saw me in the same situation, I wouldn't be losing much.

Basically, don't assume humans are so high and mighty because our culture as a whole finds killing other humans unacceptable: That's bullshit, because it's always been our greatest talent and there will always be that percentage of men devoted to killing others should the ever High School-esque political scene call for it. If they weren't ready for that reality they shouldn't have signed up.

Well, my post was more directed at the war going on right now, and the past few 'wars' that were major mistakes.
