Last year (decemberish) I attented an Airshow that is right near my home town of Richmond, NSW. (Australia) And thought Id share with you some photos I took on the day. Two F/A18 Hornets More Hornet Shots Some American Pride on Display Takeoff An old Huey that served its place in Vietnam, flown in from Canberra. The RAAF Roulettes Roulettes (2) Roulettes in Action Afterburners The Royal AirForce Marching band Blackhawk
I apoligise for the lack of quality in some shorts, the weather was poor on the day, and Im no professional when it comes to photography, though, I thought Id share them. :p
Im off to sleep, hope you like them.
Nice pics dude, I remember when I went to the air show they dropped old cars from helicopters [Sea kings if I remember correctly]
Nice pictures, especially the take-off picture and the Huey-picture. For some reason I always hear Wagner in my mind and have a mental picture of a village being blown up whenever I see those Helis.
damn i wanted to go there last year......you lucky bastard Danny. Beautiful photos
I actually took 300 in total, but there was an odd glare in some of them, and Ill attack them with photoshop sometime later on. Im actually happy with how those ones turned out.
I was jealous of all the RAAF photographers that had fancy passes allowing them to move past the barriers.. I couldnt even use a tri-stand to get balance, it was that congested at times. :p
i love the f-18
The afterburner shot is pretty cool. I haven't been to an airshow around here in years...I hope I get to go this year.
Eh. I love going to airshows. The last one I went to was called Aviation Nation, celebrating the 50th Anniversary of the USAF. It was at Nellis AFB at Las Vegas.
Really fun. You got yourself some nice pics, the F/A-18 takeoff is my favorite.
Im more of a commercial airplane guy though.
Airshows are easily my favorite places to go. Some of the best things I've seen have been the B-2 flying overhead and an entire mock battle involving infantry, dug in AT guns, tanks, and aircraft. The B-2 was an extremely graceful aircraft and was absolutely beautiful. The mock battle was the COOLEST thing I've ever seen. The American tanks were all Stuarts and Chaffe's but the Stuart was about 10 feet right in front of me when it's main gun fired and I nearly fell backwards in my chair. The Germans were riding Hetzers into battle and had a dug in Pak 40 and Pak38. And of course the P-51s, P-38s, and P-47s came in for strafing runs at near treetop level. After the battle they use the Stuarts to crush one of those Kubelwagon style cars that they tried to sell after the war. not a real Kubel of course, that would have been a travesty. But you haven't been to an airshow until you see the Blue Angels flying overhead, really something amazing to see.
Ill upload some more tomorrow, should have a fair amount considering I have a huge amount of them. :p
Too bad photobucket resizes them though, but it they were any bigger than 800x600 Id be here for hours uploading.
Original resolution is huge, if anyone would like the original hi-res, just ask and Ill add it in.
