Alright well ya want to get into airsoft do ya? Though I am from America one of the best places to find information on airsoft was through the UKairsoft forums (type it in in google like that and it should come up as a top hit). That would be one of the best places to go as far as this kind of stuff goes, any questions about airsoft guns in general from good brands to what kind of gas to use to help with deciding what type of battery is best for your gun. It's a great place. At any rate as far as particualr models go it depends. Spring guns and "boys" fully automatic rifles (those are the cheap versions of the AEG's, typically cost about 50 to 80 bucks) typically don't show much variation. They all shoot around the same FPS, in the neighborhood of 270 to 305 for springers and for the boys a little less 260 to 300. Now the AEG's are the big guns. They're the fully automatic beasts that when purchased with nothing done to them around 325 to 350 FPS. They can be upgraded however in evey respect. The externals of the gun can be outfitted in full metal and also wood for some models, such as my AK-47. They can also have a number of diffrent rail mounts fitted with attachments such as red dot scopes, lazers, magnification scopes, and night vision scopes. They also can have misquito shot barrels attached to the underside of the barrel of the gun on many models. The misquito shot is basically a grenade launcher for airsoft, it's a canister charged wiht airsoft gas (red or green or propain and some others) and loaded with bb's. Upon pulling the tirgger about 50 bb's fire out all at once givng a nice spread which kinda repicates splash damage form a grenade round. The internals of the gun can be upgraded so that the gun will fire faster than 350 FPS. Some gun can be upgraded to over 475 FPS. The Magazines can also be upgraded from a lowcap hodling about 50 bb's to a highcap holding an ass load more than 50 bb's. As far as the models go the best beginergun is the AK47, it's really sturdy, takes a beating and keeps goin. The only down side is the fact that the gun sight comes loose but it's nothing a little silicon spray and a screwdriver won't fix. Also I believe that Famus assult rifle was a good gun for beginners and I believe the MP5 was another good. My favorite airsoft sites are airsoftatlanta.com and redwolf airsoft, don't remeber the exact name of that site becuase i haven't been there in a while but both are very good sites with a massive selection of guns from snipers to shotguns to speciality guns to classic AEG's and gas guns. Both are great sites. Now I guess I'll talk a little about my guns and my friends guns I have an AK47 tokyo mauri. It shoots about 430 FPS and has a highcap magizine holding 600 rounds and I also have a tracer unit that goes on the end of my barrel. It's shoots fast has an acurate range of a good 45 to 50 yards depending on the weight of the BB's and the wind; I use .2 gram bb's. The tracer unit is just fro astetics basically. You use glow inthe dark bb's for it and eveytime a bb pases through the tracer unit it sets of a strobe light which "charges up" the bb so you can track your shots at night. Doesn't really do you that much good because what ever you make up for in accuracy you lose when the thing flashes and give your position away. It is fireing at about 430 FPS, that speed will make you bleed a little and take some skin off wiht no serious harm done but it hurts alot. A good buddy of mine has an MP5 A-4 with a red dot scope mounted on it and 2 tow 200 round mags connected with a mag clamp. His is upgraded just like mine to shoot about 430 FPS but becuase his barrle is shorter his accuracy is only 35 yards or so. finally another close frind of mine has an M16 Vietnam version shooting again 430 FPS. The M16 has a long barrle so it has good accuracy up to about 50 to 55 yards, but has a small mag only holding about 100 bb's. As for rifles I had a friend with with a coule of sniper rifles but unfortunatly the bolts are broken on both of them. When they were being used however they shot about 600 FPS and being that a .22 shoots about 750 FPS (correct me if i'm worng on that i think it may be a bit more) that's pretty fuckin fast for an airsoft gun. At that speed they have accuracy up to almost 100 yards wiht .35 grams bb's and if you're too close you will have to pick bb's out of yourself. I wish i had a picture of one of my friends wounds but he was shot in the back at about 45 yards away and he had a crater the size of the bb in his back which bled a little bit. Any way bottom line is airsoft is a hell of alot more realistic and tacticle that paintball and it's very fun. There's so much more to tell but I think i'v said enough but I will gladely tell you more if you have any specific questions.

Classic Army or Tokyo marui, but not sure if Tokyo marui makes all metal ones. Hmm, wait, yeah, the gas ones, they do. Tokyo Marui>Classic Army>All else
Damn, that's a lot of stuff. I swear, it sounds easier for me to just go buy a real gun like a K98 (I can get that for $130) and of course bullets cost more and you can't shoot at people, but I love feeling the kick on a gun and there is no way in hell I'm spending $100+ on silly little Airsoft guns.
classic Army makes gbb's?
I know what you mean Shintsu, I wish they made airsoft rifles that had recoil, it would make them so much better. BuddyJesus, is the ECHO 1 brand good? I was looking into getting an ECHO 1 m4 AEG. They are not too expensive, and would be a great beginner rifle for me. What do you think?
id rather they made airsoft guns without ludicrous hi capacity mags. You see clowns swear up and down how 'authentic' they are, and then watch them squirt out a 200 round burst from a single mag. I actually only load mine up to 50 or so just becuase the current ones dont feed so well once you get below 20.

Heh. Mine usually have a clip capacity around 30. More accurate, but bullet hoses are just plain fun. That's why I have a 20-round or so clip for my FAMAS, and then the Hi-cap.
