So, this might be a *bit* of a surprise to you, but many of the members here come from nations that have adopted old winter solstice traditions and incorporated them into the dominant religion, giving us the fantastic holiday that is Christmas. Mine will be spent eating tasty food, maybe opening a present or two (I've been having a very difficult time coming up with something I'd like that's affordable on our budget), and hanging out with family. Politics will probably not be discussed, but many dry jokes will be made between me, my grandfather, my dad, and my brother.

So, you lot, how's Christmas shaping up? Anything in particular planned?

For those of you who're seeing this after you've celebrated, how was it?

Well, I do remember hearing this song a lot on the radio around this time of year, and it's one of my favorite songs. I finally found out the name of it, so please enjoy :)

"I'd shush her zephyr." ~ Zephyr.

I'll spent kerstavond (christmas eve) with the family (dad's side) , were we enjoyed a christmas dinner at the house of one of my aunts. Everybody made some food, so the table was loaded with food. All in all quite an enjoyable evening.

This morning, eerste kersdag (first christmasday) I had breakfast at my grandmother's house (mother's side): fresh orange juice, eggs, and ofcourse various breads and spreads. I'm not sure if there is a translation for kerststol: Kerststol.jpg

Tomorrow evening, tweede kerstdag (second christmasday aka boxingday for you foreigners), I'll have dinner at my mom's appartement. Joining us will be several family members (an uncle, grandmother, and maybe some others too).

Merry Christmas! I am, as usual, with my family and enjoyed a nice dinner with lots of tasty food. Looking forward to meeting some old friends this week, although this year most seem to be away from their hometown.

Merry Christmas to all. My Christmas is all about food. Today we had a Gourmet-marathon from 2 PM till 7 PM (with a short break inbetween) with my parents and brother. I don't wanna know how much meat I have eaten today -_-. Tomorrow we're going to eat at a chinese restaurant with my grandparents, all you can eat... So I expect to be 5 kg's heavier in the next few days =p Besides that, I have nothing special planned, just relaxing, playing games with family and maybe going out with friends.

I didn't make it!

I'm eating bite-sized individually-wrapped candy bars from a large tin right now, so, I can only conclude that this holiday was a success.
