Has any one tried to change the shields. I've looked over this site and cant find any. I like how they looked in Star Trek:X . Instead of the shields completely surrounding the ship, they looked like they dissipated right were the disruter fire hit. Also the sound they had when there was a torpedo impact.

Thanks

Possible doable, the BC shields operate on vectors (look at you shield display), I'm not sure its possible to add additional vectors to the game. The sound is just a matter of locating the correct .wav for a shield impact I'm guessing?

There isn't a sound for shield impact that I'm awair of..It's just the lighting of the dome..no real sound..I could be wrong, but I've never heard an actual 'shield bubble' sound before.

If you see Star Trek VI and that Voyager episode with the Excelsior, you'll notice that pre-TNG ships don't have sheild bubbles. It looks like torpedos hit the hull and the energy is dissapated across the hull itself, like polarised hull plating in Enterprise. Could a mod be made to do a similar sort of thing?

Yes and no.

No the shields are a special system, you can't have a ship with no shield bubble, but what you could do is make it so weak that it dissapers on the first hit.

There is no way to reproduce shield effects on the hull (that I know of), so you would just have to have an extra strong hull to simulate the shields, similar to the way I did ablative armour on my mods.
