So I decided to take an aptitude test just to get some kind of view, and here's my result:

Here's the link to the site if you'd like to take it yourself, basically I'd just like to know if you think it's accurate at all and if you could, please post your results...

Y'know, having a test that requires you sign up for something is a wee bit iffy. Also, that last question didn't seem to provide enough information, seeing as no information was given on how the numbering of the flats was given, and how the block was arranged.

Hmm, I also got a "market analyst" result, and it's trying to sell me something. I'll just delete this link now.

I gotta admit, a lot of the questions were that way for different tests :\

Example, the technical skills test was only 10 questions and a lot of them didn't have enough relevant info to be considered valid.

Second fun fact: that test is crap.

I only did the first section (so of course my opinion of the test as a whole can't be given), but testing relatively obscure vocabulary (and in one case a technically non-existent word, Irascribe: they probably meant irascible given their possible antonyms [phlegmatic]) does not really count as "aptitude", rather "arbitrary bollocks".

Over the years, for various reasons, I have done many many IQ tests / aptitude tests / cognitive ability tests and am generally of the confusion that they are almost completely useless.

I've seen people with incredible learning difficulties suffer their way through a degree and graduate with honors, and people far smarter than myself fail their GCSEs by simple virtue of not turning up for the exams. Desire and effort seem, more frequently than not, to be the main factors in attainment.

attainment

Is not necessarily a marker for aptitude :)

I think the problem is more that people misrepresent what they have attained than anything else. Behind every attainment there is some manner of aptitude, even if just in subverting the system.

Aptitude tests are questionable, just like standardized tests that colleges use to determine who is accepted. The real test is knowing how to study the tests themselves so you can get the results you need to do what you want.
