wow, that actually looks pretty good! just change the nacelles, and a bit more detail to the armor itself, and then darken and sharpen it, and you will have an AWESOME ship! very good job! what if you had the armor deploy as a DAMAGE TEXTURE :eek: ? you know, like when you activate the armor, the script has it so that the armor "damage" texture shows up? i think you guys could probably figure out how to make the script work, all it needs to do is have an animation, make the "damage" texture show up, then have the hull integrity to 100% with a whole lotta hit points? if ya need pics of Voyager with her armor...

Its an expandable Ablative Armour system that yes deploys and its almost finished. So yes, it could be used for the above model.

I'm still waiting for some good armour sound effects though.

the AVM has a nice SFX for when the armor deploys, but it is REALLY quiet... i had to use a audio editor and increase the volume by about 300%... lost some quality, but its all good

anyways, i DID look at that link and download just the armor segment... ill have to wait until i get my BC working again... ive got a "Swirly Screens" problem right now (see thread)...

so i can make a plugin for may ship ,in scripts/custom/Technology Expansion ,and add the cloacking Devie in the HP

Plugin would go in scripts/custom/technologyexpansion/ships

Look at the Intrepid's Plugin for an example of the Armour Component.

Then, yes you add a Cloaking Device (although I'm working on getting this needed without a cloak)

Just remember ATM the mod is unfinished. Theres just a few bugs left to fix though.

Eventually a tutorial will go up for making ships have armour (as well as the other various techs out there)

Do you think ATM will be finished before ATP3 and Dimensions?? supposing the ATP3 does get finished...

i havent tested the Armor from ATM yet (my BC's got a few problems to work out), but are there any compatibility/bug issues?

lol, I've just spent the last 10 minutes trying to figure out what the mod ATM was.

ATM = At The Moment

Its not the name of the mod, just an abreviation

The overall title for this mod is called the Technology Expansion Pack (or TEP)

First of all, I think that yes its more than likely that this will be finished before ATP3. Doesn't really matter though, none of the technologies in this mod overlap the technologies in ATP3.

Bugs you should be aware of mostly involve warping. Cloaked Firing and Ablative Armour primarily don't like warping. It won't crash (unless you activate Armour or Cloaked Firing while at warp) but you'll have some weird graphics issues when you drop out of warp.

Remember though, there is a mutator to turn it off.

lol, i forgot that this was under the BC board :p armada 2 (though i rarely play it, im basically a nothing but BC guy) has an AVM mod (Armored Voyager Mod) that actually does do a Voyager to a Voyager with Armor thing... and it DOES have some nice SFX... i would upload it, but you can only do pics, so yeah...
