Band Of Brothers Hero, Darrell ‘Shifty’ Powers Dies
June 20th 2009
“The world depended on them. They depended on each other.”
Powers, a Dickenson County native, died earlier this week at age 86 following a battle with cancer.
No Staples Center funeral. No mass 24/7 media coverage. Nothing except small article in the back section of the newspaper. And I only found it by accident today on a unelated rumor busting website. This happened a month ago.
:cort:
RIP.
Old news.
Shame though, sad to read about our World War II veterans dying. Pretty soon there will be none left...

ugh that should been on MSNBC, or fox news for crying out loud.
That's really sad...
I'm going to go watch my Band of Brothers Blu-Rays again now.
Farewell, Shifty, and godspeed. :salute:

They should have a special on TV for this, showing all the band of brothers episodes
History Channel does that every other weekend already.

Well they did a great job on it. I wonder if they will make more of them for some other company, maybe one over in the pacific?
