They are, in fact, working on a pacific version. 2010 was the last estimate I heard.

My grandfather fought in that shit and I cant wait to see it. Speilberg and Hanks do that shit well.

And shout-out to the LVT's, the great-grandparents to my AAV.

One day a director from America might focus on another country for a war film, maybe they should do Burma.

John Basilone - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
You know he is one of the most famous Marines in history, right? Every Marine knows that guy is a legend.

Guadacanal was the fight my grandfather was in.
One day a director from America might focus on another country for a war film, maybe they should do Burma.

Why would America care enough about another country to make a movie out of one of their wars?

Been to Burma. Fucking shithole. I'd burn that country to the ground in a heartbeat.

Besides, they had Rambo 4. There ya go. That counts. (Burma and Mynamar are the same country for those of you that dont know. They wanted to change their name when the dictator Junta government took over. We intentionally call them Mynamar to piss them off. Like a kid whos name is Steve but we call him bitch).

And he lived in my town. We're the only town to have a parade honoring a war hero in the US. We've got a statue/memorial and everything.

Thats badass. Him and like 4 other Marines bios' are given in great depth during boot camp to all Marines. No Marine does not know Basilone. One of our main roads in Camp Pendleton is Basilone rd.

I read about that on Wikipedia earlier today! A landing zone for parachuteists and the stretch of highway near it are also named after him.
