James Doohan... who played Scotty, the beloved chief engineer of the Starship Enterprise, died today at the age of 85. I remember watching him all through my Star Trek frenzied highschool years. He was a sci-fi pioneer and a great man. Bow your heads... a moment of silence for "Scotty".

R.I.P Scotty. Full speed ahead.
Yeah, one moment of silence is enough for someone I never even met...there's already a thread for this...
Oh... well this is Scotty were talking about. He DESERVES two
FX-FraggerOh... well this is Scotty were talking about. He DESERVES two
Why? He's an actor who played a fictional sci-fi character. Has he done something monumental for humanity of which I was unaware? Cured AIDS or something? World peace? Yeah, he's dead. So sad, but too bad; people die all the time.
Dead rather than Red!

lol...you dont like Star Trek, do you?
It's not that, it is just that we don't give a crap. Famous people die all the time. We don't make threads for them. Well actually we do for some, I take that back.
^Exactly. I like Star Trek okay. But famous people die all the time, "regular" people die the time, too.
I'm way cooler than n0e (who isn't though?)

The balding fatass? I can't say I'm too sad. I hated the old Star Trek movies.
