Hmm... I'd suggest Traditional Karate. It's a more of a take out your opponent first thing. Or at least it was for me.

I personally think martial arts, or at least some cause people to become, arrogant, and thus they make mistakes, and it is their undoing. I like to jsut generally learn through experience, I find it most effective.

And by experience I do not mean go and pick a fight with a random guy off the street. I mean watch learn and practice. And remember, you NEVER EVER know how to defend or protect yourself completely.

But if you have an understanding of how to you stand a better chance. Are we talking street fights here? because jujitsu is really what you want to survive a street fight kids, all this other bullshit is only going to get you hurt.

I know that. All I'm saying is some people get the impression that they are indestrucible, and go out with a huge ego problem, I'm trying to point out this is not true.

I haven't the need nor the time for all that flowery shit. Styles such as Krav Maga and Systema are well-suited in my line of work. However, what works well for me may not work well for you. Find the style that is convenient for you, practice it, become proficient in it, and kick ass with it!

Thai Kwon Do 'looks' impressive, but isn't v.effective.

A friend of mine recommends Jujitsu if you wanna go offensive, they teach you by actually USING moves on you :nodding:
