In the year 67 A.D., in the course of a Jewish revolt against the Romans, forty Jews were taken prisoner. Unwiliing to be taken as slaves, the decided to form a circle and number themselves from 1 to 40. Every seventh man was then to be killed until only one was left; the las man left was to commit suicide. Flavius Josephus, the future historian, positioned himself so that he would be the last, and then did not commit suicide. Determine the number Flavius Josephus chose.

howq about you post it here so i dont have to e-mail you:lol: :smokin:
he never choose the seventh man position
Either I'm smart or I'm a moron, but I got 40 as the answer.:assimilate:
that doesnt make sense it should have been the 37th guy
i they count till 7 then kill a man and then start from person one again then the answer is 6, the 6th man will never die
and if you go 1 2 3 4 5 6 boom 8 9 10 11 12 13 boom then he will choose position 1
it goes 123456*89(10)(11)(12)(13)*then goes every seven to 35, then back to 2, then count seven skipping 7(because we already used that)and you get 10, then count 7 skipping 14(because we already used that, repeat process skipping every number you have used, counting seven each time, and counting in a circle, so 35+7=2. Answer should be 39.
That's interesting ;) Let's move this to the right location lol
You guys are all wrong, the answer is 24
