I blog... click my sig to get to my site. I don't try for traffic or w/e I do it for me and myself. If other people want to read it so be it.
It's an online journal/diary. :)

Im off for the Night HAPPY 2005 EVERYONE!
.TheMachine.Blogs suck. A real man would open notepad/homesite and make his own site, not using some goddamn template made by some blog company. Be original.
I'm not quite sure i want to know what blog sites you've used in the past ,but most -good- blog sites will give you the option to use a template or to make your own HTML-CSS/PHP. I coded my own blog (link in sig). My own layout, i used the default untill i could be bothered making the layout, it took me a good few hours to make but i did it, and yes i did it in notepad to, you would never find me making a site out of anything other than notepad or wordpad. I'm also the same as Oompa on the traffic issue, my blog is there for my own benefit, for me to vent my opinion on things, if people want to read it so be it, if they don't then i couldn't be happier for them, no loss for me.
I think why blogs have gotten so boring is because most of the time, they're done by pubescent girls that loathe around saying ''Life is horrible, oh my me!, It's like... like... so bad becaaaaaause my dad wouldnt let me go shopping.".Now, There are nice uses for blogs. I myself use one to detail progress of my band until I can fully code the main site.
I think that blogs can be a good supplement to larger sites. For instance, a site generated using PHPNuke, has a blog built in...but you also have forums, chat, etc.
I am working on a CMS (Content Management System) at the moment. It contains a blog/news system where I post latest site's news, developments in my life, etc, but I also offer user registration, the ability for users to post comments, and soon a forum, as well as other features. (Link to my site in sig).
Without a blog/news posting system, I think that my site, as well as many other sites would be lacking. So, that concludes my argument that blogs are more valuable in conjunction with other features.
