No demolitions taking place? Could be something like they were doing earlier with the cars found with all those explosives. Safer to just detonate them in a controlled area then try and disarm.

My home town, under attack!? What a fucking crock of shit.

I was just heading into town to get something to eat about 20 minutes ago when I heard a loud bang. As I continued into town, I saw the flashing lights of a Police car. Even further and ‘Police line - Do Not Cross’ tape stretched out. Fuck that, only want a McDonald’s. Kept going until suddenly a Cop is shouting at me to “GET BACK!”

What the fuck, mang, this is Darlington, the shittiest shit hole in the North East and not a target for terrorists.

This shit pisses me off because it is allowing the fucks who blew their silly asses to Kingdom Come in London are getting what they want. Disruption and fear. SOmeone probably saw a fucking carrier bag and, because of a natural retardation, thought it was a bomb and called the Police.

Get over it. Life has to go on or you are letting the fuckers win!

More when I have it. Couldn’t find anything on the ‘net just yet.

Whilst I remember. A Police Officer confirmed it was a controlled explosion.

Actually, Mihail has a point. The entire thing is such a bullshit situation now. This is exactly what the Terrorists who performed the London attacks wanted. A country living in fear. This country doesn't need to live in fear. This town certainly doesn't need to worry about being a target.

It's just stupid that this kind of situation develops. The best way to get one over on people who wish us harm is to utter a big "FUCK YOU" and get on with things. Not, hide away from every (remote) possibility of danger.

Yes, but it might not be related to the situation. I'm sure if a controlled bomb went off and something happened (if this seems to be the case), it would alarm people no matter what. 3 weeks ago or now. Hell, even before 911. The fact that police scramble to control the situation should make us (the civilians) feel better knowing our emergency forces are that much better and more aware in light of recent events. We just now have more security features.

It's not like before these attacks an explosion would be left and people could walk by and take pictures of the burning building. Pre-cautions and situation handling have always been here. I remember when I was in high school we had bomb threats. The situation was the same, and this was before 2001.
