You see, I'm trying to make a scene in 3ds max. Its going to be of the sunken city of R'lyeh from the Call of Cthulhu mythos. HP. Lovecraft describes the city as being build in non-euclidean geometry. Well, Im hoping to make this scene as lovecrafty as possible. And ive tried figuring out what NEG is. But I just cant wrap my mind around it. Could anybody lend me a hand here?
See if that helps. I have no idea what they're talking about.
yeahh. I tried that a while ago. I was just looking at it five minutes ago. Just boggles my mind:uhoh:
Are you required to have your whole scene made out of the stuff, like strict rules?
I guess that could be hard to make using a 3D engine which itself is based on Euclidian geometry ^^' Would probably be easier in 2D, if you could add stuff similar to Diablo II's Arcanes Sanctuary 's architecture...
well, its not required that I make it entirely out of NEG. However I would like to throw at least a little bit in there just for the sake of authenticity. I think it would be a nice touch.
and as for the Arcane Sanctuary. Would you happen to have any screen caps? Cause I cant seem to find any.
I would go on an HP Lovecraft fansite, they might have studied it more.
Maybe I'm just being dumb but can't you just model the town and forget about non-euclidean geometry? You never said it was like a core requirement of the project.
rabid midgit;4593169and as for the Arcane Sanctuary. Would you happen to have any screen caps? Cause I cant seem to find any.
Sure, here are a few. Uses the same tricks as some of Eischer pictures (you may as well search for these, most of them are just awesome :] )
I plan on modling it mostly with regular geometry. I would just like to throw a bit in. Just for old times sake :D And thanks constance. Thsoe look like...mindfuck
