I've already posted this question once either people really don't know if its possible or the subject title wasn't specific enough, so i'm sorry if you're reading this a second time.

Does anyone know if its possible to use a new ship in single player?

Just incase anyone cares i worked out how to do it myself. All you need to do is change the name of the .py files in scripts/ships and scripts/ships/hardpoint file from whatever ship you want (e.g Defiant.py) to Galaxy.py and overwrite the old ones (be sure to make copies to restore the originals when you are done. Same thing can be done with the Sovereign files. I now start the game in an Intrepid and finish in GalaxyX. The only problem with this is that you can't use the Galaxy or Sovereign in Quick Battle unless you restore them.

Is it possible to translate the ship specs (ie. extra weapons, shields, etc) of a mod to single player or can you only just get the model to work?

i know using 9 of 9's Galor and Keldon the single player ships get replaced but when i replace the stock Galaxy with P81's Galaxy, the single player only has the model replaced, but retains the weapons of the stock galaxy

so bottom line im getting my butt kicked cuz the cardy's have been upgraded by my galaxy is still the same!

any ideas?

When I switched the files round i ended up with the model i wanted, weapons, shields and all. Are you sure your switching the .py file in the hardpoint folder as well? Sorry other than that i've got no idea.

Oh, i also switched the icon file in Data/Icons/Ships folder as well i suppose this might have something to do with it but i'm not sure.
