The 13th RaptorTwo words for you!

Mandatory refit.

hahaha! I think not. You think im going to let the government toss some garbage like that in my custom 48 merc?! (not that I own one, but I doubt anyone that does would let anyone mess around with it decreasing the value).

Its not like many people drive vintage cars to begin with, and there has to be a way to limit a cars speed automaticly without decreasing its vallue.

The vehicle do not have to be vintage, just registered before any such insane laws get passed. At least here in sweden.:)

Its a start, older cars cost more to maintain the older they get, some people will just take the pain of no speeding ability and drive a cheaper car, especially these days with such high gas prices.

├čeef FlapsEveryone speeds, everyone is a criminal I guess.

No they don't. Many do, but not everyone. Far too many people go too slowly for my liking, in fact. People in this area seem to believe that the national speed limit is 25mph.

There is no need for GPS in a private vehicle, it IS an invasion of privacy.

Just one of a great many which you don't seem to care about.

IF it ever did happen here I would disable it for sure, or not buy that model which it came.

If it happened there, it would become mandatory for all vehicles to use it. Otherwise it would be a completely pointless measure. And if you disabled it, they would know -- it's a frickin' tracking device. It wouldn't exactly take them long to notice that the tracking device assigned to vehicle registration 'BLAHBLAH1' had been tampered with/disabled.

Oh and if it came on my new Shelby and I took it to the track, are they going to come arrest me for going over 100 mph:lol:

Tracks are private property and speed limits don't apply, so a limiter wouldn't (shouldn't) engage.

Maybe you like to bend over I don't.

And what exactly is it that you're going to do to stop it? Start shooting government officials? Disable the tracking system and land yourself repeated fines and/or jail time? Vote?! You're the property of the government. With our stagnant, corrupt institutions politicians can and will do whatever the hell they want, until we remove the institutions completely and put new ones in place.

I'm just glad that this stupid new idea will never be introduced in the USA.

That would be like trying to take down the gun lobby.

Car enthusiats rejoice!

The day Bush tries to enforce a speed-regulator on cars is the day he is impeached, ousted, killed, maimed, tortured, sent to hell, etc.

I bet alot of these people who like this idea are kids who dont drive, hippies who use public transportation, or people who drive like the elderly.
