Jill;3673196Well..it has more meaning. Let's not take away from it. Sure...we can bring in the same old bullcrap about how EVIL President Bush is and how the U.S. Military are the NAZI's of the 21st century..but seriously...I'm sick of that crap. Military personal are people too. They have families, friends..etc. Sometimes they die. Let's not forget them.

1. George Bush isn't EVIL!, he's just incapable.

2. The U.S. Military arn't Nazi's, they are people who give up there own personal freedoms to serve under the military, as they want to be a part of a focussed, highly organised and effective team.

I think you misinterpretted my statement. I was merely highlighting how the video is a cheap shot aimed at deliberatly pulling at the heart strings of patriotic and fanatical American dreamers, such as yourself. I'm saying that's it shouldn't be emotinally grabbing for some people, I'm merely answering your question...

You said 'What do you think of this?'

My answer is 'It's not very good.' :uhm:

Well durr.

Naw...look bro...it is a volunteer military. Bush didn't hold a gun to their head and force them to sign up in the military.

And what about those who had joined up before?

And not everyone who signs up to the Army wants to go to Iraq. If they don't go they can get court martialed so in a way, they do get a gun to the head.

Why are you so mad at me? Is it because I posted this clip about thinking about our military service guys and gals? You seem like a really angry person for some reason. I just found this clip very meaningful and it tugged a heart string with me and I wanted to share it with others here in this forum.

It's nothing personal against you. The fact that you posted it suggests that this is the first time you've ever really thought about those getting killed.

And yes, i am angry. Sorry to get "political" but members of our family are dying in this war and are for what?

Fanatical and patriotic American dreamer like myself? Hmmm...I have to think about that one as soon as I'm done tattooing this big American flag on my butt. :)

Oh..okay. I'm actually a nice person if you really got to know me. :nodding: [quote=do_NOt_ENTRY;3673223]And yes, i am angry.
Ya...I can tell. [quote=do_NOt_ENTRY;3673223]Sorry to get "political" but members of our family are dying in this war and are for what?

That's okay....sometimes others don't think exactly like you do. They may be in this war thinking that they are helping others.

lol, hope it don't sting too much.

But really, it's tragic there is such a waste of life on both sides of the conflict over in the middle east. But I've made my point: I didn't need to see an overly sentimental video cast from a western perspective to let me know how s*** this situation is.

Again, you asked, I replied.

Jill;3673185Just for once, try and view this with an open mind and not bring in your personal views into it. Not everyone thinks like you do. This is about those that are sacrificing their lives, time away from love ones, and not forgetting them in their efforts.

Well said..

I like this one, patriotic and fanatical American dreamers.. I lol at you for that.. Such a not nice thing to say while you are on a american based forum..

Correct me if i'm wrong, but you are from the south, right? And you are republican, right? Therefore you bias towards Bush.

No, but thanks for making retarded assumptions. I assume that people join the army of MY COUNTRY to fight for MY COUNTRY. Are the soldiers in Iraq really fighting for my country? I don;t think so.

Come on bro....those that join the military know the consequencies. No one forced them to sign on the dotted line.

Like i said, no one that joined before the war were expecting to fight a war.

That's okay....sometimes others don't think exactly like you do. They may be in this war thinking that they are helping others.

Of course, i just don't think they expect to die doing it.

All I know is that the American soldiers in Iraq are doing something very few people can do. They are fighting for people, and dying for people. Yes they were ordered there, but America's men and women are stilling signing up for them military, ready to stand and fight for not just their country but anyone who needs someone to fight for them. Everyone who joins the military knows, in the very back of their mind, there is a could chance they will die, yet they get up every morning and put on their uniforms and fight for their families, their country, and even total strangers in Iraq who need their help.

You can say anything you want to about our government but our soldiers are doing the best damn they can at protecting Iraq and making it a safe place for a father and mother to raise their children, and are risking their own futures to do so.
