December 5th? If the boy was smart he would have said "I thought we were celebrating Sinterklaas eve first".

But seriously, it sounds pretty sad but the mother also said she had some real troubles with the kid in the past. Maybe he has done simular things before and received a ton of warnings. If a dog keeps on barking and never bites... well the kid won't listen to any warning anymore then. The mother probably first should have just gave the boy a good spanking.

Oh and they have a tree and presents all setup now already?! :uhm:

it is indeed a sad act but...the child will never try it again, when i was 7 i opened a pack of crisps in a store and took some crisps..my mother took me to the police station and they gave me a big speech and scared me shitless.

now i wouldn't steal a thing, it helped me.

I find it extremely amusing that anybodys parent's would take there own flesh and blood - there child to the police. Even if the child has been particularly bad behaved previously, surley if they were good parents, they would of took measures into there own hands. A punishment such as taking the christmas present back to the shop or even grounding him would be suitable. It actually baffles me why they bought him a present in the first place if he was bad behaved all the time.:vikki:

This actually happend not to far from me. The kid was well on his way to life of crime so I really don't see anything wrong with what she did.

It jut seems hilarious that she called the police on her own son and he wasn't pointing a gun at her. Thats the only reason I'd call the police on my child. (But then again my brains would be on the wall by the time the got there.)

I still think she blew it out of proportions. When I was little I stole alot, from the local gas station. BUt my parents didn't call the police on me. They spanked me! Good too. Thats how I learned. My mother used the same techniques as she did when I was a baby, I touched something I shouldn't she hit my hand and you'd better believe I wouldn't do it again.

It sounds as if the lady is clinically insane, I mean seriously there are other ways which would be more effective than arresting the poor kid like for instance taking it back to the shop and not giving him anything for christmas.

Or taking off your belt, pulling down his pants, and then whacking him with the belt multiple times while speaking in the rhythm of the whacking.

EX. I though, I told you, not, to open, your christmas, gifts, early.

Every comma is a whack, I bet he'll learn after that.

BTW, and you who said "Only in America", your right, why don't you guys come on down for a visit! Like Baird said in GOW "Its a f**king party down here."

If you call that parenting skills then god help you. The only thing he'll learn through the process of 'spanking' him is too hide the belt for the next time.

And maybe when he's older, he'll be influenced from that day he got a 'spanking' and probably tie is mother up, blind fold her, get his belt and start spanking her.

EX, Never, spank, your son, Never, spank, your, son...

 Wow that was funny. Well I see what you mean, I actually didn't like my mom when she spanked me either, but later you learn it was for the better not the worse. But that was still funny.

I tried that, it didn't work! :)
