An evil spirit approaches you, and tells you to make a choice. The spirit tells you that you must make a choice or you shall lose everything- responding with "I don't know!" is not an option. You must chose between losing your hearing or your sight, for the rest of your life. Before you make your decision, you must think hard about what life would be like without either one.
This is a question I have struggled with for a long while. To keep my hearing- I would lose my sight, and never be able to see or create art. I would never be able to see my family, my children, my girlfriend. I would not be able read (unless I take a couple years to learn brail) , I would not be able to use a computer.
On the other side, If I lost my hearing, I would not be able to listen to music. I would not be able to join in conversation, or connect with my environment. I would be stuck with the thoughts in my own head.
I believe I would choose to keep my sight. This question always allowed me to appreciate what I have, and now I ask you:
Would you tell the spirit that you would rather be deaf, or blind?
I've always asked myself the same question, but I had a third option so I would always choose that and stop thinking about it ( Of course the 3rd option was "Smell" ).
For me, I would want the spirit either to give me "Daredevil" like powers and go blind, or go deaf...
I choose deaf. Just think about it. No more chicks b***hing in your ears. But you can still see them nekkid! lol ;)

You're 16, you dont deserve to see chicks "Nekkid" yet :D.
Although I would find the loss of Nirvana/The Doors/Soundgarden/Rage against the Machine/Led Zeppelin/Living Color/John Williams/N.W.A./GTA:VC/The sound of that one dudes death/speach rather annoying.
I'd go with 'Deaf.' On the whole, modern society is far more capable with including deaf people than it is the blind. Music would be the worst loss, obviously, but what with computers, sign language, and other mediums, you actually would "be able to join in conversation, or connect with my environment" As the world progresses, we are becoming increasingly developed towards sight. Not to say that hearing isn't important, but it is not as essential as sight is for interacting with the world. To that end, if forced to make a choice, deafness it is.
Deaf for sure. I'd rather learn to lipread or sign language then see blackness my entire life. I think that would be uber depressing.
With deafness you can still feel vibrations. That means you can still play videogames if you put your speakers on the ground and put your feet on them haha.
Right now I already have tinitus, constant ringing in the ears, and its really not that bad. I'd kind of enjoy hearing silence for once...
i like deaf better
I didn't make it!
if you go deaf your other sences will be highten same if you go blind, great painters were blind and same with the deaf been great music composers, it only gets you down when you limit your mind . you think you cant do it then you wont. you have open your mind then you will be great! so for me i wouldnt mind going blind for the rest of my life.

Deaf, not a whole lot in it, although it would be a shame to lose music/conversation.
I'd say deaf too. Though it'd suck not being able to listen to music or hear TV, I guess there's always captions and such.
