It seems like whenever someone insults (even if its just my friends joking around) and I tell them to shut up (multiple times) it seems like I come about an inch from punching them until I break their face.

see also: Violently choking them to death. see also: Smashing skull against concrete

The only time I've ever actually acted upon this is when one of my better friends was insulting me, and refused to shut up and I hit him on the head, but fortunately my best friend who is much bigger and stronger than me was there to stop me from doing anything else.

Is this normal, or do I have anger problems?

I don't think you have issues, I think its just one of those moments where it only happens one in a great while. If he is annoying, get a CD Player, MP3 player, or Ipod or whatever the hell you listen to. IF you don't have any of those, then just walk away.

If you are 21 or older, drink boose, it clears your mind

I don't think its an issue like "oh no, he needs therapy" you just need to keep a tight reign on your emotions, I don't think anyone really has "anger problems" I just think its a difference in amount of self-control

Or if you're 15, move to Denmark and drink boose!

As long as you don't do anything, i don't think it's an issue.

My friend does the same thing. I was joking around and then he started saying Shut Up then he pushed me one the ground. But my friend has temper problems, he flipped off a kid because the kid said he was lying about something.

Everyone has issues in life. I do not think yours are very severe. Most the time the answer to why we are they way we are now comes from our past. You are angry at something , or perhaps a few things in life. Maybe if it is a constant problem you just need to learn to deal with small problems better. MAke peace more often. Or maybe there are things that you really should talk to people about that you have been afraid to discuss or have not taken seriously enough. I do not know your case so do not believe I assume to or claim to. I offer my sepculation . Without any imagination to aggression there would be no passion I believe. Perhaps you are passionate in general but something has been on your shoulders for far too long ? Do people judge you often? Etc etc. Peace and good will to you.

get other friends, my friends never ever publicly or privately insult me to such extent, and they show me the respect I deserve, as do I them. just get a different group man.
