I use shift myself.

I'm not sure if there is an accepted use for which one you should use, shift is certainly faster for the One word. CAPS LOCK HELPS FOR SHOUTING.

I use Shift.

For that matter, I need to use the right Shift more often than not, because the left one does not work anymore. That means using some very odd typing techniques.

Depends on how many words/characters need capitalized.

If I am doing just ONE OR TWO words then it's shift all the way.

IF I AM WRITING AN ENTIRE SENTENCE WITH CAPITAL LETTERS OR SOMETHING LIKE THAT THEN I WILL USE CAPS LOCK.

Generally, I only use CAPS LOCK when I'm angry.

Whatever seems the most effective. One letter or one word in capitals is best done by pressing Shift. For an entire sentence(s) or sometimes when working on headers/titles the is Caps Lock. If I am to guess, I think >95% of the time it's the Shift key.

I've been using caps lock for most of my life but I've recently started to transition out of that habit. It's been tough...
