Hey guys. Just wanting to get a show of hands here who smokes (Tobbaco im talking about). I'm conducting a self study nd i'm wanting to give up. As some of you will know im having problems with vision, memory, headaches etc and i'm wondering if those smokers out there experience anything similar?

I don't smoke, and I never will. My mother smoked since I was born until about a year ago, when she suddenly decided to quit. And she did, God bless her soul, because I was ready to kill her

But seriously. If you're really serious about quitting, you'll do it. If you can't seem to do it, then you need a little more determination. But remember, smoking will kill you. And it won't be pleasant.

I smoke. I don't know what you mean by vision problems. I know why my memory is bad, and it's not from smoking tobacco. I do get some pretty bad headaches. Generally, after being around smoke for awhile.

Not to scare you, but your symptoms sound kinda serious. Are the headaches real bad? Could be an aneurysm.

Now that you mention it, that could be a possibility. Of course don't take our word for it; none of us are medical professionals, and even if we were you have no way to prove it.

What I would suggest is go to a different doctor (I remember you saying you had problems with your current one), and maybe spring for an MRI or CT scan, to see what's going on in your head. They're expensive, but your life is more important.

I don't smoke. I don't want to have my life controled by any other factor except for me. Not to go into the good and bad points of smoking, some say it cures stress, I personaly think it causes it then cures itself when you smoke one. But either way it is a fact it is addictive and I don't want to have anything I am not in control of. It's not a way I want to live my life. The best thing to do is quit IMO.

Indeed, at this point it's always wise to say "Don't seek medical advice online, see your GP / Doctor". I say it too often. But it's for teh best.
