'Aurora-[NZ']Hey guys. Just wanting to get a show of hands here who smokes (Tobbaco im talking about). I'm conducting a self study nd i'm wanting to give up. As some of you will know im having problems with vision, memory, headaches etc and i'm wondering if those smokers out there experience anything similar?

Only when you set me alight. My old folks have puffed on the cancerous tubes since times before my existence, and have yet to share your cranial conundrums however. Perhaps you should seek out a medicine man?

I wouldn't call people who smoke losers, they are just making a choice to smoke. You may choose not to.

I smoked for 12 years (1/2 - 3/4 pack a day) before I was finally able to quit 4 years ago. And quitting is not easy. I wanted to quit and tried many times before I was finally successful. I ended up just making a New Year's resolution and had my last smoke on the last day of 2001 just before midnight. I went cold turkey after that. I'm not sure why it finally did work, but I know how hard it is to quit and I wouldn't preach to anyone who smokes about it being easy to stop.

I've had plenty of times since quitting where I wish I could have a cigarette. I still miss having a smoke after dinner, on breaks and while driving.

While I think it's not a good idea to smoke, I don't think any less of a person if they do smoke unless they are pregnant, that I find unacceptable, even knowing how hard it is to stop. I will say though, if you haven't started smoking, don't start. It's usually not easy for a person to stop.

I do not smoke and I'm not going to do it either. I smoked a cigarette when I was twelve, but I found it really.. untasty. When I was thirteen I had another one and that made my decision: No smoking for me, it just tastes like shit ;)

I don't mind if people smoke though, people should do whatever indulges them. But if I see someone (a friend or so) who starts to smoke to "be cool", I'll personally kick his ass.

I smoke and I don't, I have the occasional cigerette, probally once a week on average, but there are those weekends when I stay at a friends, and have like 3-5, or those weeks in which I have non. I ain't addicted, and never will be, and yes, i still hate the smell and the taste. But the smell, 1, I ussually smoke outside, and it isn't a problem, and 2, I ussually drink an MD with it, and swish out the taste. I never will bcome addicted, cause I am told that when U r a constant smoker, u lose the head rush. And that is y I do it in the first place, oh, and just socially too, lol, social smoker...thats me

Btw, most people's first couple times, they don't do it right. That is y they say there is nothing in smoking. LOL! how wrong they are...u see, u must continue to inhale after moving the cig away from ur lips, if it burns your throat, then tough, after 3 more, it wont, LOL! most people just inhale when the cig is there, and exhale immediatly, none of that goes into ur lungs, all in ur mouth, and u no what....THAT SUCKS! if u want to smoke for taste, then I suggest swisher sweets or some kind of flavored cigar, but if u doint it for a head rush, then cigerettes, if u want to base it on health, then cigars, cause u don't inhale them, u just suck it in ur mouth and taste it, some are quite good...And when smoking, it is wise to always have a drink, in case u get that bad taste:smokin: , ew... much better...

I use to smoke, but it had serious impacts on my training. I run a hell of a lot, to keep in shape. When I started smoking, I wasnt able to spar as long as I could have in the dojo, training became difficult. And the running became painfull on my chest. I haven't smoked for over a year now.
