I've been watching a lot of this guy on YouTube called Bald and Bankrupt who speaks really good Russian, and it really makes me want to learn Russian.

At the very least, I wish I had learned another language.

Just curious if anyone here speaks other languages?

One important lesson I learned is that you should know how to say "hello" and "thank you" in every language you will encounter on a frequent basis. So, I know how to do that in Spanish, German, French, Italian, Russian, and even in Thai.

Beyond that, I am not fluent, but I do know several other words and phrases.

I can speak a little Dutch, due to be having a few Dutch friends online.

I have been trying to learn it on and off with the hopes of maybe having the possibility of moving to the Netherlands one day, let's see how it goes

I took three years of Russian, one year of German and six years of Spanish in school. I don't speak any of them.

I'm a qualified German speaker. Or at least I was, many years ago.

All I can remember now is "wo bist die geburtstag bitte" - and as I'll never understand the answer, I'll never be able to find the toilet.

I tried to learn Russian on my own a year or so ago too, but I managed nothing beyond a few phrases. For instance, I can ask someone if they speak Russian, but because I can't speak Russian, I won't understand the answer. I do not know how to ask if someone speaks English either. The whole thing didn't go very well, if I'm honest.

And in typical British fashion, I can ask someone in Russian "how are you?", but unless they answer with "I'm fine mate" I won't understand that answer either.
