Anyone thought much about growing old!? I was on the bus today and an old couple sat down in front of me, it maybe out of line but I felt a little down that one day Id be (fingers crossed) that old. The old guy was checking out the young woman walking by lol. See this is part of it, I know many many people are happy in their old age but what about the male ‘needs’?, I mean like a young spirit trapped in an old aged wrinkled body. Im not looking forward to that part. What do you people reckon? (Im early 30’s so not too old) There’s a few younger folk here and ya think your bullet-proof but everyone will be old one day, trust me, you may think yeah you’ll never go old and post its nothing to it, but think hard, if you instantly warped to 70 years old or so, what would you think? :uhm:

My grandparents seem to be just as happy as my parents are. I trust that just because I stop being young, doesn't mean I'll stop being happy. Life changes, and I suppose that part of changing is the ability to accept that change and be happy with it. So while I know "getting old" will affect me, I don't think I'll have any problem being content.

I had this phase, shortly after my grandfather died recently. It's weird I just can't on one hand imagine myself old, yet somehow I'm able to create visions of all possible hardships that await. :(

The thing that really made me take this line of thought was though, mainly that my grnadfather was actually more or less hale and hearthy--he still build a house, even though he was allready in pension. But he had to go to hospital to have a trivial operation, and the doctor messed up and somehow cut at something he shouldn't and didn't notice.

They later said, that's it's very hard to operate on such an old body, since everything is "glued up".

But as I've said, shortly after his death, I kept running in my head--what must it be like to be old and possibly alone.

It must be terrible--I even can't imagine what my Grandmother must have felt--they were planning of going around europe etc

But those kind of things happen to everyone, they aren't just a result of growing old. "Young" people, have plenty of problems too.

Being old and all alone's oughtta be one of the worst things ever. And being old and thinking back about how it was like when you and your partner were young is kind of sad. Is there an age restriction for buying prostitutes? hehe jk, or am i...?

I will never be Old I'm Immortal!!!! (joke) Well of course being old is a bit depressing but then again it's life if you have someone to spend it with it makes it a lot easier. Now if I was instantly warped into a 70 year old man the only feeling I will ever get is the back pains and all the physical afflictions of being old but in terms of mental depression?? I dont think I'll succumb to any of it. Since you know I'm asian like your wife we do not let these things bother us one bit ask her about it if you dont believe me.

Dwelling on the past and worrying about the future are two certain ways to forget the present.
