I don't think about it all that much since I know I have a good chance of expiring before I'm 60-70 due to my alcoholism. I figure its better knowing or having a general sense of what I will die of rather than having to go through the entire ordeal of being a senile old man. I see whats going on in those retirement homes or with old people in general in society, I live with my grandmother and some family when at university and simply don't want to live past 65. The plan is that I intend on living life to its fullest, travel, fulfilling all those worldly material goals I've always had, like own a Porsche, get season's tickets to Ottawa Senators, see a Notre Dame Fighting Irish Football game, visit the British Museum, etc.

I usually think 5 years ahead, max.

Here goes. I think it will be awkward later on, but by no means will it be impossible. Both the generation before me and mine have grown up in an age of technological advancement, so I don't think that those generations are going to have the difficulties dealing with newer technology as this one does.

One thing I have thought about is music taste. I will never give up my love for metal, hard rock and house. Today's "old folk" think that such music is awful, at least the majority of them do. I'm going to keep on rocking till the day I die =p

However, these are things I will actively deal with when I get there. I'm in my early 20s and simply cannot focus on the far future when the immediate present is so much more important. ;)

I do think about being old, but then my mind goes out of control. I start thinking about how I will die and who will know and who will be sad and who will get what and then I sort of forget and think about pie.

*outbursts* wow I'm not alone! I've wanted a porsche since I was like 6! lol *shifts back on topic* being I find it irrelevant thinking that far ahead in the future, I work in the present and learn from the past to plan the short term future (5-10 years max)

It is a deppressing factor getting old. However its a basic factor of life and we have to life with it regardless :)

I try to keep myself busy all the time in the present to keep myself from pondering stuff like that. :p

It's a good distraction, I guess. I've never thought much about my elder self. I figure I'll just worry about it whenever it hits me...

Lord Wiener;3672214I usually think 5 years ahead, max.

I usually think 5 minutes ahed, max.

Old. When is someone old? Old. I am not old. I am 18. I know someone who is 17 and she is old. No social life, going to sleep early, no arguing. Nothing. Old. She is old. But she is 17. I know someone who is over 50. She has a florent social life, she goes to the disco every wednsday and she is a free spirit. She is not old. Old is when you don' t have the strenght to live. Old when you are useless to society. Old is when you have nothing to belive. Old is when you loose your imprevedibility. As long as you live your life, have your friends, think about everything and nothing you will not be old. Age doesn' t matter. Many, many of us, eventually will get old because life is like a shooting gun. You gently pull the trigger, the bullet gets out, doesn' t matter where it goes, and the noise of the gun gets over every other noise, it' s the only thing you hear and even when it' s over you' ll keep hearing it for a while. But then it' s over. You' ve made your time. The show is over. You don' t have the strenght to pull the trigger again. Your hand gets weak. The skin starts to fall slowly and you' ll end up waiting for another shot, another shot that will never take place. Live your bloody life, have fun, do what you feel, keep yourself interested in something, get out, be in, be like me. Be young. Be free.
