Around 8 O'Clock this evening, my Dad Burst through the Door, saying "Floppy got hit by a car." We rushed her to the vet, and after about 15 Minutes of Waiting, we got a little info. There was more bad than good stuff. Her heart's muffled, the Vet thinks she's got something in her lungs. He had a big laceration on her Head and Leg, and she's suffering from hypothermia, tempature dropped from 96 to 93. They had to wrap her in Thermal Blankets and give her an oxygen mask. The only good thing is that she's breathing Normally, and she's alert. To be honost guys, I'm fucking breaking down, I don't know what I would do without her. I love her with all my heart, and I'm placing my Faith in the Vet and God. I love that Dog so much, and she loves me, I just, can't imagine life without her. I can't believe this. Worse, she's unstable, and the place we brought her to is not an All-Night Vet, we have to pick her up at 8, and bring her to the local vet, I'm not even sure if their open on Saturdays. WHY? Why did this have to happen to such an adorable, loving, young dog? Why? Why couldn't have been the big, dumb Galute that our neighbors own? The only thing he's good for is shitting in our yard. Life may not be fair, but I know nothing I or she could have done could have caused this. I would give everything to save her life. I would shave my head. I would donate a kidney. I would jump out of window onto a Concrete Floor, my whole life is turning upside down. I pray to God she get's better. Has this ever happend to anyone else? Right now, all I need to know is if someone shares my pain. Floppius Arrilius Marino 2005-???? I hope it's 2050. Please, God, let her get better. Here's a picture of me and her, along with our other dog, Radar. 715200613ve2.jpg

Well, an update. Not an update, just something I forgot to say. The place we brought her to isn't a 24-Hour Vet, it's 20 Hour one. We're going to bring her to the Local Vet, then bring her to a Local One, then, we're going to have to bring her to a 24-Hour Vet if she survives through that, good for her. I'm so depressed, I don't know what I'm going to do without her. We had such an emotional bond, she was my best friend at home, and I was her best friend. FUCK THAT CAR. They could have at least stopped. Assholes.

I'm really sorry to hear this. I've never really lost any pet bigger than goldfish, and I wasn't terribly depressed. But I've had losses of other kinds that I could probably relate to this in some way.

My best wishes to Floppy. I'm sure she'll pull through. The worst is probably over by this point.

I don't know, there's a possibiliy that her Lungs are filled with fluid and there's a Neurological Disorder from the Head Injury. I don't know why, but I think she'll be OK. I can't explain why, I just feel with all the advances in Veterninary Medicine, she should be Ok. They said they would call if something was wrong, and we brought her there almost 4 Hours ago.

I'm sorry for what your going through... I hope everything turns out alright for you

My dog is getting old (13yrs) and I know I'll eventually have to let him go, and I've tried preparing myself for that eventuality. But I know I will be devistated, no matter how much time you have, you still want more.

But does your animal want more time? If something is too old to live freely and frolic then prehaps it is ready to go itself and you should respect nature there because one day when you are real old and nature takes it course for you , you mostly likely will be prepared for it then so will your animall when it is it's time to die naturally . Or even un-naturally under poor luck.

As for severly injured pets the same goes for them.

Sure, it's inevitable, but it's still not any more comforting.

My Dad just got back from the vet . . . she's going to be OK. She has a few head injuries, namely, the Gash in her head, and she has a broken femur bone. I'm assuming we'll get her back next Monday. Whatever, I don't care when we get her back, as long as she's alive. It's funny, for some strange reason, I thought she was going to survive.
