I think you mean "Quenya", not "Quendi". You must have been thinking of both Quenya and Sindarin. I've read all the LOTR books several times, indexes and everything, and I don't remember anything about a language called Quendi.
Yeah, you're right - I was confusing that with a similar word, that means a certain language of humans. The Quenya is the right word - amazing I forgot that, but oh well. I love all of Tolkien's books - I'm reading the Silmarillion as we speak
