Dunno why, but I generally like these irrelevant tidbits of information. Like...uranium! An element named to honor the recent discovery of the planet Uranus at some point in the 18th century.

"Norman", as in the conquerors led by William d'Normandie in 1066? That name actually means Norseman. They were originally vikings that negotiated a deal with the locals - protection from other raids in exchange for a piece of the land. Indeed, William himself was a descendant of Gaange Rolf, the viking that led those viking settlers.
