I've encountered a couple so far, both musicians. Nothing particularly interesting came out of the encounters, but it was awesome seeing them. One was the guitarist Joe Satriani at a signing at the local music store. I got him to sign stupid stuff like a library card, a Dr. Pepper bottle, and an abstinence card I got from middle school. He was really cool about it.

The other was Michael Stipe of R.E.M, who I'm a huge fan of. I met him in a cafe in Athens while helping my sister move. I didn't pester him since Athens is his home town, but me and my sister kind of gave him this shocked glance and he looked back at us with a friendly smile. I wish I could have gotten an autograph.

Anyone want to share their experiences?

Awesome, I love Joe Satriani.

The only celebrity I ever met was Matt Damon. I was hanging out with some friends and saw him walking down a random quiet street in NYC a good number of years ago. It was dark so we didn't realize it was him at first, but we chased him down and had him sign a football..

I guess it depends on what you label as a celebrity... there are all sorts of people that apparantly became famous through those reality and talent shows, but I don't watch any of that so I'd walk ride past those people without recognzining them, let alone caring.

The only celebrities that I met was at a StarCon, met some 'Allo 'Allo actors: Richard Gibson (HerrFlick), Sam Kelly (Hans Geering), Guy Siner (Hubert GrĂ¼ber) and Arthur Bostrom (Officer Crabtree). :)

I met Sir Patrick Stewart in London outside the Globe theatre when I was there for the day. He was in a rush to get into the theatre though :uhm:.

I got pretty close to Bill Clinton once. And the other day I passed some paparazzi following someone I didn't recognize.
