right, ill get right down to it

many of you guys will recall me posting a thread about my eyesight deteriating back in may or something, a number of months ago anyway

well, heres the update:

well, its becoming completely messed up, even more, now even just the computer monitor which is rougly 65cm away from me is becoming blurred, its becoming a nightmare

to the best of my ability, i have photoshopped two images which show how my eyesight is, the larger picture shows what it is like closer up, and the smaller one as though im further back

attachment.php?attachmentid=39491&stc=1&d=1127846382attachment.php?attachmentid=39492&stc=1&d=1127846382

i hope this gives a good idea, the top image is pretty much what my sight is right now looking at this screen, and the smaller one as though im about 1m away from the screen

as you will probebly guess, reading boards in school is something i dread, since the new school year, in english, i sit at the very back, and i have to copy off someone if we have to copy from the board. And so im dreading if i ever get asked to read off the board which is bound to happen

my wish to join the british paras has gone out of the window now, mainly because im 15 now (been 15 since saturday :)), so god help me when the time comes when i join, id probebly walk into the walls of the recruiting office or something, and trip on all kinds

so i thought id ask, again, what should i do?, im really getting worryed now

thanks once again guys, its very much appriciated

i would, but if i did my eyes would rely more and more on them, so if i took them off it would be an awful lot worse

and i would just generally hate to wear glasses, and i dont think i would have the balls to put in contact lenses

but if the worst come to the worst id have to

Go for an eye test, it doesn't hurt like the dentist, and no waiting in a queue like the doctors

Thinking about it.

oh well, thats bad.. well.. to begin... dont know how much time you actually spend on the computer, but its always good to, if you've been on the computer for a while, just stop for a break, and look outside the window and stuff for a few minutes... but anyway, i think you should go to the optician, or just to someone who is specialised in optics and glasses and that stuff, cuz they can help u best at these things.. and just.. well.. if its really your sight getting worse because of your eyes, i dont really know what you should do. but it may also be due to circumstances, eg not enough sleep, lack of vitamins food or whatever... Note: i am not really specialized or sth at these things; so don't know if everything is fully correct.. but u could atleast try, i mean, more sleeping, eating enough and frequent breaks can never hurt u.. well anyway hope i helped u a bit..

Yeah that happened to me when I was around 10 I think, I never even realised I had crap eyesight until 3 years later - had to do a lot of copying people who were next to me, I got tired of that and decided to purchase some glasses... They don't actually look that bad if you get a good pair. Since then my eyesight deteriorated even more and my glasses aren't cutting it - need to go get a better pair.

Shortsightedness sucks hard, but seriously, you need to get your eyes checked or something. Really gets annoying seeing everything as a blur. (I can't even tell who someone is from a distance.)

Yes, you might want to consider laser surgery. Of course, you'll have to wait another 3 years, since they don't allow it until you're adult, i.e. have stopped growing significantly.

I've been wearing glasses since 4th grade. I've never had a problem with it, though I'm thinking of getting a new frame, but otherwise.....glasses might actually suit you, ever consider that?
