I'm probably more like Vantage here with my food tastes. I'm not picky at all and I've yet to find some food or general cuisine I dislike. At home my folks pretty much prepare everything as it was in their home, and that means everything revolves around rice in some form. Doesn't matter what... everything goes back to rice. Even more indirectly eprakh/dolma is stuffed with rice and Kofta is made from ground rice, soups are served with rice, meats (ex koobideh) are served with rice... rice rice rice rice. Like Nem said I guess many things go well with rice.
I've been exposed to many different foods though and I've liked them all. If I don't like the food there's a good chance that it was because it was burnt to hell more than anything else. I like trying out different things when I can, shake things up and try something from everywhere. Guess I'm bit of a foodie like that. Unfortunately I can't be too liberal in that respect, got to watch what you eat.
Let's start out with something, I have a difficult time making pho (my favorite food) witht he ingredient availability in my area.
Otherwise I love almost anything. Lately I've made a barley risotto, spicy mint yak kebabs (using the mixture as my new burger recipe), make a kickass mac and cheese, Spanish beef stew, and Italian Sausage stew. I also love most any casserole and pasta dish. Then comes my second favorite food in nearly any variety (although preferably pesto and chicken) PIZZA :D
I also forgot my favorite dessert, red wine milkshakes, or as I like to call them Love Potion #9 ;)
I didn't make it!
Totes;5633194So we had one of these threads not too long ago ("What kind of food do you like?"), but instead of reviving that one I thought it'd be cool to just have a general food discussion thread. We all come from many parts of the world, so I thought maybe if there's a particular recipe or combination or whatever that any of you like, you could post it here for us to try. I've got a few I'll post when/if I can find them. Anywho, one thing I've loved since I was younger is potato chips and ketchup. Before you gag, it's actually got an interesting flavor. And remember back like 10 years ago when they were making that green and purple Heinz ketchup? Dude that stuff was the best with potato chips. Fritos go rather well with ketchup, as well. Especially those big ones. The scoops. Well that's my weird food post for the day...
I grew up in a family where me and my siblings ate what was put in front of us or we didn't eat (My God! We lived to!). Needless to say we learned to eat everything, thus I will eat anything you put in front of me today. Although my favorite food is....Spoiler: Show
I also forgot my favorite dessert, red wine milkshakes, or as I like to call them Love Potion #9 ;)Food
That does indeed sound like something a lady would drink. :lulz:

Mint yak kebabs? Where on earth do you find a good supply of yak meat?
I have a friend who's family owns a yak farm. The recipe also works with ground beef :)
