1) Click Archive at the bottom of every page to see posts from days gone by.

2) Click Search when in General Discussion to look for other threads also asking about GF's history.

^^^ was this site the result of several foums being merged? Oh and if you don't know this is the offical forums for filefront. Now in the time i have been here they had karma and removed it several times. They added the arcade mack in july or augest. And we had a "store" but i bet most you know that it will killed by rampent hacking. I got some other stuff with admins and other stuff bust some of the older members know it better than i do.

Some ancient writtings have been passed on, recalling the way this land - eh, forum - used to be. They are full of lacunes, not easily filled up, because of the archaic use of language and code. They do present us with a global view of the main people responsible for 'the creation'. Sadly, history has - as so often happens - mixed with legend. I myself know little of this ancient history of the internet - since I'm too busy studying the history of Greece :p - but I'll try to tell part of the tale.

'Dreadnought[DK']it was started by redm the great in the days of yore.

These lines are actually the first of an epic tale, which has been passed on by quite a few (1?) generations, to us homo sapiens today. The tale goes like this:

It was started by redm, the great in the days of yore, before Ragnarok, the beginning of the end, before Thor's hammer smashed the skulls of giants - before the storm. In a time when even Chronos, Lord of time and space, was unknowing - undiscovered. [...]

From chaos, they created the universe. And they - rulers of all - made all above and under the earth. Divided them, and gave rulership: To the birds, the skies and clouds... To the fish, the rivers and seas... Man - strange among all - the earth and mud.

And finally, they said: let us give them, our greatest creation the Gods, a more divine place, capable of entertaining them and us - both in equal measure. We will give to our holy creation, the internet (in change and creativity none alike), so that they [...] for mankind.

So the moderator was born. They were πρω̂τos, 'the first'... After the first, came the last. Eternally haunting the πρω̂τos, always in their shadow. The last have many names: 'newbies', 'trolls', 'flamers'... Undestructable but doomed to be defeated. Undefeatable but doomed to be destroyed.

This is the story of Beowulf.

Woops, forget that last part.
