Remember that man has'nt even set foot on Mars, and I'm preety sure that it will be awhile before we move to Mars if possible.Cause we are just now testing the enviorment on the Moon for making a settlement there. But....Mars... if posible... home... sweet! *PS* Bs|Archaon that is interesting.

A sad truth about humanity is that we never try to solve problems until it is too late too prevent the consequences. And Mars has ridiculously low temperatures (I believe it is -217 degrees there.)

There is no environment to test on the moon.. It has no atmosphere. The only way man will ever survive on the moon is in an enclosed habitat. Mars.. The air pressure on mars is next to nothin. To terraform it you have to A. Heat it up by artificial globa l warming.. Pretty much the way scientists claim we're doing now.. They have machines that can do this on a global scale in about 50 years time.. After that you drill to the center of the mountainous ice formations and blast them with high explossive but non-nuclear bombs.. This creates water as well as a significant ammount of carbon dioxide causing the atmosphere ot densen up.. The water vapor will also cause a global increase in temperatures as much as 30 degrees.. At this point you introduce a simple plant life and wait 200 years for the atmosphere to become breathable, adding in more powerful plants as the atmosphere becomes suitable. All in all that's about 300 years away.

WiseBobo;3975898So global warming also includes global cooling?

Yes.. As a matter of fact it does.. The seasons will become more erratic untill it reaches a certain point.. Your winters will still be warmer than average at that point, but the nights will drop 50% or more below their normal.. Essentially it would be a breakdown in the atmosphere's structure and after about ten thousand years, you'd get an ice age as a result.. It's called natural climate change ;) Edit: whoops that was supposed to be an add-on to my last post =/

Yes they are studying the soil and trying to find out how they would be able to build a settlement there and yes I know it would be enclosed on the Moon. And I just said that it would be impossible for man to survie on Mars in our generation and for another good centuries to come. But... as I said... Mars would be awsome to live on and look at Earth and think 'we now have two homes'!:p

Global warming includes regional cooling.

For example, a rise in temperature in one place shuts off a heat-conveyor current in the oceans and causes another region to cool dramatically. So some places heat up, others cool down, but the net function is a global temperature rise.

But basicaly, as I hope you all know, the big trouble continues to be the raise of the water levels. The ice caps melt, blah...blah...blah, and the hole ocean advance towards the coast. Heck, who knows!? Maybe my place will be a beach house in fifty years
